Okay, I need to do a product enforcement. My husband & I love fried foods but sadly our arteries don't lol. I have been researching online for a week Hot Air Cookers & today i brought this one at Walmart for $79.00. I have to say i love this as much as my Crockpot. I made Chicken bites, Fries & omg Onion Rings. Everything came out so Crispy and tasted delicious. You have to play with the time & make sure you shake the basket half way through. I cannot wait to try making other things in here.
“My new Della 5.8-Quart Air Fryer is my new go-to for a healthier alternative method of getting the crisp from the food I crave without the guilt. Chicken came out crispy and crunchy, with no oil! I did spray down the basket with olive-oil cooking spray and parboiled nine chicken legs in four cups of seasoned chicken stock for about ten minutes before cooking in my Della. The large size is perfect for my family of four … I’m honestly considering purchasing a second unit to roast veggies. It would be AWESOME to be able to have a complete meal prepared together, all made in the Della. Must-have! You won’t regret it. I’ve already recommended it to several people.”
Most air fryers come with accessories that are sold separately, such as a cake pan or grill pan, but we found them to be gimmicky add-ons that didn’t prove useful. Most manufacturers, such as Philips, sell several accessories separately. However, we can’t justify spending $20 to $40 on additional pieces when each air fryer model is already exorbitantly priced.
The Philips HD9641/96 Airfryer was the best air fryer we tested, but we’re not wild about it—or any other air fryer, for that matter. But of the six models we tested, the Philips HD9641/96 did the best job of cooking food evenly when the basket was filled to capacity. The interface on this model was straightforward and easy to use, too. The Philips HD9641/96 also had the smallest footprint of all the air fryers we tested.
We started by compiling a list of popular brand names and models, drawing from retailer websites and online best-of sources. First and foremost, we were looking for products that were ETL certified. This certification shows that the product has been tested and approved in accordance with national safety standards determined by the US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration and is safe for home use. We also looked for fryers that could cook enough food for an average family — roughly 2 pounds.
The truth is that an air fryer will handle typical fried foods pretty poorly. "The only food that'll come out the same is a french fry," Mims says. "It doesn’t work well with traditionally fried foods that have a wet batter. Things like chicken wings or fish fingers, or schnitzel, those all have to be adapted to the machine. They should be dry-coated with breadcrumbs, or cornmeal, or spices and herbs to get a get a crisp texture."
CON: The trays came a little warped, though I later when I used the trays for chicken wings, the heat helped straighten the trays a bit. The little plastic channels for the trays are very difficult to use. It takes me a couple of tries of very careful insertion in order to catch the grooves correctly. This is incredibly difficult when you have super hot trays, heavy with food on them.
During a four-day period, I unleashed the machine on all of my fried favorites. Panko-coated shrimp and onion rings were crunchy, albeit lean tasting, an issue remedied by a dipping sauce. “Fried” Brussels sprout leaves were phenomenal with just a whisper of oil. Chicken wings and tofu developed terrific crispy exteriors. My large machine’s five racks allowed for air-frying zucchini sticks and eggplant rounds while roasting slabs of cauliflower at the same time. Pretty efficient multitasking, if you ask me.
“Wow — I love this MultiFry! My first test was to overload it with half-moon-cut potatoes and onion slices for pan-fried potatoes. I was merciless and loaded it up with three pounds of potatoes. Enough for six people. I used about five tablespoons of olive oil and set on four, with the bottom burner on. Forty minutes later, was I ever pleased. Beautiful, crispy bites of potatoes that I could monitor easily through the see-through cover, and the little stir paddle flipped and stirred to perfection while I was busy doing other things, like making ribs in the Instant Pot electric pressure cooker. So next night I made some catfish fillets and shrimp without the paddle. Perfection once again! I own the Power Air Fryer XL, and this outperforms it hands down.”

My husband really liked this, but like some others, I also had trouble with it not being cooked through. Not your fault — I suspect the problem is that I had thick chicken breasts, so when I sliced them through lengthwise, they were thicker than yours were. Maybe it would be worthwhile to guess how thick yours are, and put that number in so that people can know they should pound theirs down a bit if they’re thicker?
We put this to the test with chicken pieces, chips and fish, all of which came out crispy and equally browned on all sides. Of course, as recommended by most recipes, we also flipped the food items midway through cooking. Don’t expect the same results if you don’t do this. Overall, it was clear all sides of the food were exposed to the hot air circulating around.
Want a large-sized versatile model to help cook delicious food and at the same time reduce the caloric intake of you and your family members? The Power Air Fryer XL 3.4 QT is just that. It uses a cyclonic air technology which reduces the amount of oil for cooking by 80%. This means you will be lowering your calorie intake by 80% while eating the same delicious meals you have always enjoyed eating.
Bear in mind I have only used the product once - to fry sausage patties. Frying using three racks really saves a lot of time vs. Skillet frying. I think the unit has a lot of potential that is why I bought it. First thoughts, I wish there were more cooking ideas. Second, forget using an oven mitt. There is not enough room with the mitt to grasp the frying trays. I used a pot holder without any problem. Also removing the drip pan without spilling is slightly tedious. Finally, in frying multiple layers of food ( sausage for example ) remember the grease from the upper levels will simply drip down on the lower levels. Keep that in mind. Otherwise I look forward to do more with this unit.
First day I received my fryer it worked great. The next day, the fan wouldn't come on so it basically became an I've, which I already have. Sent it back because it clearly wasn't working properly and it took forever to receive my replacement. Finally received the replacement and tried it out that day. I thought great I'm gonna use it now, and it worked great yet again. Two days later, I turn it on to make food and much to my surprise, the fan is not working. I am extremely dissapointed and I will be returning this, I will not be giving this a third chance.
Drumettes have more meat than wings—that's what we use in this tasty recipe for air fryer chicken wings—but either will work. The air fryer basket gets overcrowded easily, so only cook 10 wings at a time, or stir the wings frequently so that they cook evenly. These wings have a sweet and spicy Asian flavor; sprinkle them with some toasted sesame seeds for extra crunch.
We can thank the dual convection fans that circulate hot air evenly around the food. The fact that it is also a relatively small unit at a 2 pound capacity – don’t expect to cook for more than 2 people – also contributes to each piece of food getting the ‘air-time’ it deserves. Worried that your food might get burnt when your not around? Black and Decker have solved this tanks to an auto shut-off feature that turns the machine off when the timer expires. Check out this cool video which compares this unit to the very popular (and more expensive) Phillips XL Airfryer – the results speak for themselves.
I had almost written off fried chickpeas as something that will never actually be good—that is, until I cooked them in the air fryer. The absence of the oil needed in the oven, deep-fat fryer, or skillet actually helps them get crispier because the air fryer’s heat dries out the exterior, while what little oil gets used has a chance to imbue the beans with a beautiful golden brown color. All crunch + no mess = I’m sold.
At a capacity of 2.8 qt, this is a relatively small appliance and so cooking for 2 people is the way to go. Food will come out crispy if desired and most customers have reported positive experiences in this regard. We would agree with them, and although you’ll get food that is under or over cooked here and there, the unit mostly gets the job done.
In our testing, it didn’t cook food as good as the Phillips XL or Black and Decker air fryers and this was especially the case when it came to fish. We cooked 3 pieces of salmon fillets and noticed everything was cooked but the sides were not as brown as the top or bottom. Nevertheless, the majority of food came our crispy and was cooked through. For the price, it definitely met our expectations.
The air circulation is system is further divided into two different systems. The first system controls the temperature of the fryer together with internal pressure and called as the exhaust system. This is used to address the hot air in the fryer and also uses a filtering option before finally transferring the air. The next system is a cooling system. In Air Fryer, to control the internal temperature, a cooling fan is used to circulate fresh air from top to bottom. This is why the air fryer never becomes hot even while cooking.

Power Air Fryer Oven is an oven that superheats the air inside using Rapid Air Technology, thereby enabling it to cook your food with practically no oil at all. And, don’t let it sit there dirty for a days. “Not cleaning is a big mistake. Just about every recipe I've ever made leaves some debris or crumbs behind. If those food particles stay in the unit they will burn quickly the next time you fire up the machine,” she says. This can not only smoke and smell but also ruin whatever new dish you’re cooking up.
I purchased this air fryer during the lightening sale because Gordon Ramsay endorses this model. It arrived and at first I was a little intimidated by it then I thought I'll start with potatoes. I used some gold potatoes I had at home for baking and cut them into identical sized French fries, soaked them in water for 30 minutes before air frying, sprayed the basket with cooking spray, placed the soaked potatoes in the air fryer and 22 minutes later had the best French fries of my life!!! Being a lemon pepper chicken wing lover I decided to do chicken wings but I didn't have the party wings so I used full size wings, washed and dried them then coated with lemon pepper seasoning and a little salt, again sprayed the basket and cooked them, they also came out delicious!!! My family has loved everything I've cooked in it. Today I cooked chicken breasts, bone and skin on and they came out divine. I purchased the Air Fryer to aid in weight loss by lowering the amount of fat from regular frying and calories and I have not been disappointed yet. I saw a comment that said the reviews were bogus because they weren't from verified purchasers so here you go, I purchased mine on July 11th and haven't stopped using it. One of the issues I think people have is they still feel they need to add a lot of oil but you don't, I don't use any except to spray the basket. I hope this helps anyone thinking about purchasing an Air Fryer, I can't wait to try more recipes with mine!!! This past Spring I went to NYC for my cookbook tour, and I had the chance to eat at By Chloe, an excellent vegan fast-food chain that makes Air-Baked fries. I was HOOKED. These fries were light, crispy on the outside and potato-pillowy on the inside. I don’t know if By Chloe uses an Air Fryer, but I figured that whatever technique they do use couldn’t be far off, and I purchased this Phillips Air Fryer.
Here at the Strategist, we like to think of ourselves as crazy (in the good way) about the stuff we buy (like knife sharpeners), but as much as we’d like to, we can’t try everything. Which is why we have People’s Choice, in which we find the best-reviewed (that’s four-to-five-star reviews and lots of ’em) products and single out the most convincing. While we’ve written about slow cookers, toasters and toaster ovens, frying pans and skillets, cookware sets, electric griddles and indoor grills, and even microwaves, here we’re rounding up the best air fryers you can find on Amazon. (Note that reviews have been edited for length and clarity.)
One of the secrets to getting the best results from your air fryer is to coat foods with a dry mixture that cooks up nice and crispy. Here, we’ve used omega-3 rich flaxseeds to add a super-food style crunch to French toast. Thanks to this delicious recipe, you can feel great about treating your kids to these on Saturday morning (they’ll never guess they’re eating a fiber-rich and heart-healthy breakfast!).
The way this device works is that in order to cook your food efficiently and uniformly, there is an in-in-built exhaust system that controls the temperature and pressure at which the food cooks. This exhaust system releases the necessary air in order to do so, but ensures that this air is properly filtered first. As a result, this device is not only safe to use for yourself, but also for the surrounding environment too.
