I ran into the same issue just today. I contacted powerairfryer.com and showed them a screen shot and the answer they gave me was, it doesn't look like it's working. I asked what else they suggested if I want to use PayPal, they stated that I should just keep trying. Looking at your post, I should give up on that thought as you tried 11 days ago and it's still not working. That's too bad for them though, they should really fix that issue.

Have only used a few times since the air fryer arrived last week, but super impressed with the result of making fries and wings, especially the wings!!!! Tried the "fried chicken' recipe using chicken thighs. Based on the recipe it was extremely salty (will modify next time!) but the result was good. The wings were a WOW! Only negative so far is a strong chemical smell once in full gear of air frying, I have to assume this will disappear after a few more uses, the heating element is an electric coil therefore I assume this is the reason. Any comments or feedback welcome on this strong chemical smell coming from the back vent (I keep checking to see if somehow we missed the removal of some packing material that could cause this, but not finding anything)

If money is no object AND you are sure you will use it enough, then buy the Phillips. It’s sturdy, it’s got a few bells and whistles, such as a sliding rack to hold the basket, a preheat feature etc. even though, oddly, it only goes up in 30-degree increments. The bottom basket cleans easily, and the larger grid and higher wattage means even cooking and less need to flip. The larger grid does mean small things fall down. Get it HERE.

Like most everyone, I care about what I put into my body, and I know enough about nutrition science to understand that french fries should not be a diet staple. As a congenitally blind 65-year old cook, I’ve used all sorts of deep-fat fryers, and even pan fry. However, being a double widower, with no one to impress and cook for, I very rarely deep fry because of the setup and cleanup time. The 9220-28 or TFal seem like good candidates for me. I’ll probably use the timer on my Talking Magic Chef microwave, and can’t use digital beasties sans speech output, so analog is better than good. However, wondering which of the two might have more easily markable dial? Usually either notch outer edge of dial, or if nothing to aim notches at, mark the dials with loc-dots or highmark. Suggestions please?
It arrived in the morning and, lacking other options in my fridge and pantry, I made baked potatoes for my wife Elisabeth and myself. Pulling the air fryer out of the box, three things became immediately apparent. First, these things take up a lot of counter space—pretty much the footprint of a five-gallon bucket, and two-thirds the height. (Other brands might be smaller but not that much.) Second, the fan that that runs whenever it's on is loud, effectively sucking the conversation or ambient music right up into the ether. The third thing was how ridiculously tiny the cooking basket is; at nine inches by nine inches by two and three-quarter inches high, two large potatoes effectively maxed out its capacity.
