When I was younger(don’t want to mention ages here), we use to go to BJ’s in Fredonia, NY, about 45 miles south of Buffalo. Those were the best wings ever! They offered $.10 wings and $.50 Molsons beer on Wednesday. I would always order 100 wings, play foosball while waiting and my share of beer. We would eat half the wings and take the rest home to enjoy later. The difference in their wings was they baked them after applying the sauce. Oh so good! Not the dripping wet wings you see everywhere now.

- Vents very hot air out the back, which I'd forgotten, and one night noticed one of my blinds was drooping and quickly realized it was because I had the fryer too close to the wall. I was able to bend the blind back into shape, well mostly straight anyways. LOL! Now I just make sure I pull the fryer out to the edge of the counter and have had no issues since.
From there, I tried another recipe in the Philips recipe booklet: shrimp on lemongrass skewers with sweet potato fries. The idea is that you're supposed to cook it all in batches, a detail that subtly pops up on the very last line of the recipe. My estimate is that you'd have to do the fries in (at least) two batches, followed by the shrimp in two, turning it into 60 minutes of cooking time. Compare that to cooking the fries in the oven (there wasn't much difference in taste in the fries between the three methods), then blasting the shrimp under the broiler. Don't get me wrong, the results of all three methods for the shrimp were excellent, but the oven and broiler gave me more options and slightly superior results, and, thanks to the relatively luxurious amount of space in my oven, I could cook much more food in about half the time.
Sure, there’s something nice about the crispiness of a fry right out of the deep fryer. However, if you’re looking to make a chicken, a steak, or an apple pie, you’re not going to turn to a deep fryer. More than likely, you’ll be turning to the conventional oven for those things. Hi Helen–I would try oiling the basket of the fryer but brush it with regular oil and don’t use Pam. I didn’t have to do this with this chicken, but a good method for getting breading to stick to whatever you’re cooking is to make sure that the flour is almost like paste–which should happen here because of the buttermilk soak, but if you refrigerate the breaded pieces for about an hour, the breading will adhere. This is messy, I won’t lie, but it does work. Only other thing I can think of is you may have crowded the basket. Many people swear by the parchment rounds they sell to line the fryer basket. I bought them off Amazon but to be honest, I find them more trouble than they’re worth, but your mileage may vary.

Okay, got my air fryer last night, opened it up, set it up and tried it for breakfast this morning. The included recipe book has instructions for soft and hard boiled eggs (first page). Granted it was for "large" eggs, and I used "extra large" eggs, but followed the directions (ten minutes at 300 degrees), and the eggs were barely cooked. Put them back in and cooked for four more minutes at 350 degrees, still not cooked enough to peel (ruined a second egg trying to peel it). Put them back in for a third time, three more minutes at 300 degrees. Now I am down to four eggs (started with six). Two were cooked enough to peel and say they were "soft boiled" (very soft boiled) eggs. The other two fell apart trying to peel them because they were under cooked. Next batch of six eggs were cooked at 300 degrees for SEVENTEEN minutes (seven more minutes than the directions said), and they got brown spots on the shell, but they were indeed "hard boiled" eggs (barely). My opinion is if one can't even cook a hard boiled egg according to the directions, I don't even want to TRY anything else! The machine is nice, easy to remove the two cooking racks, and the drip tray on the bottom (all coated with non stick surfaces), but it is much smaller than I expected. It does fit on the kitchen counter nicely, and stays cool on the outside while cooking, and it looks nice if one were to leave it out all the time. This machine is NOT FOR ME, and will be returned. Ease of use. If you are a tech minded millennial, you will most likely be looking at air fryers with a digital touch screen interface. Personally, that’s always my choice, as I’m always afraid to break the control knob. On the other hand, for those of us more traditionally inclined in our gadget choices, there are air fryers with an analog interface.
Let me start by saying I loved my air fryer oven. We used it every day, it took the place of my oven...With that said, I have had my air fryer for about 9 months and today I went to use it and it shut off 2 minutes in, gave a E1 code. Does anyone know what that code means, and can my air fryer be fixed or reset? I would be very dissapointed if it's broken. They are not cheap, and I would have hoped it would last more than 9 months. Has anyone one out there had this E1 error code come up? If I can't fix it, I will not order a new one out of fear I will be out the $160 plus again. It was a great product while it lasted, but for the money, it didn't last long enough. My advice to anyone wanting to buy this product, beware that you may be dishing out money for a product that may not last!
Most air fryers come with accessories that are sold separately, such as a cake pan or grill pan, but we found them to be gimmicky add-ons that didn’t prove useful. Most manufacturers, such as Philips, sell several accessories separately. However, we can’t justify spending $20 to $40 on additional pieces when each air fryer model is already exorbitantly priced.
First off Eric is being paid to lie to people. He says in the commercial that you don't have to rotate the racks and you don't have to turn the chicken. Yes you do. When I got my Power Air Fryer Oven it was all scratched up. So I Email customer service they send me another one and it's all scratched inside to. So sent that one back. Asked for compensation for the scratches and they gave me 45.00 that's the max amount they will take off any purchase. Once they take that off it's a finale sale. Tried to get compensation for the false advertising and was told no due to the 45.00 they already took off. WHAT A JOKE. I don't like being lied too. I could have kept my first air fryer worked just as good and was cheaper. Bought this thinking it was better and it's not.
