I have not used this yet,Just got it today from a online order. The walmart add pictures for this product show the stand to prop the food on. the one i received came with the 3 small books. The reason i ordered this one on walmart is because i wanted the stand and not the books. i thought maybe thats why walmarts was called power air fryer plus. the one advertised on power air fryer.com is called power air fryer and it comes with the books. Size. If you are single and live in a tiny minimalist apartment in Manhattan, you may not want to purchase a large air fryer unit that’s too bulky to fit in the storage closet. On the other hand, a larger unit will have a larger food capacity. Thus, instead of cooking only one food ingredient at a time, you can cook 2 or more ingredients simultaneously and save time.
Always unplug the air fryer and let the basket and unit cool prior to washing. It’s best to clean out the pan and basket after each use; otherwise any residual oil will smoke or cause the interior to smell a little funky. We put this to the test with chicken pieces, chips and fish, all of which came out crispy and equally browned on all sides.  Of course, as recommended by most recipes, we also flipped the food items midway through cooking.  Don’t expect the same results if you don’t do this.  Overall, it was clear all sides of the food were exposed to the hot air circulating around.

In some cases, spending more on an could be wiser, as usually higher priced units come with a handful of accessories and other bonuses such as longer warranties. The price you are willing to pay for such a kitchen appliance depends on you, but in any case, make sure that you are making a reasonable and long-term investment.
Well, needless to say, they got me twice. The first unit I had already paid for, so I just donated it. I thought this one would be different since it has a different body style. I have tried to roast a chicken twice and neither time did it work. The first one cooked on 375, the second was cooked on 400, and the second one it took almost 2 hours until I just stopped and put it in the oven because the dark meat wasn’t done. I was given a 90-day return and of course, they are saying only 60 days, which is not what I was given when I was convinced to try the new model. You would think if they really stood by their product, they would have made an exception since this was my second unit and it has not been a full 90 days. Which means that I am about 15 days past 30 days. And I never got the Walmart gift card for ordering either.

The downside is that this is a big, heavy, and rather expensive machine that’s noisier than most when it’s operating. It doesn’t have digital controls, and therefore hard to set the temperature and timer precisely. With a few more parts than most air fryers, there’s more to clean. And while all of the parts can go in the dishwasher, the huge basket will eat up considerable shelf space. However, like all air fryers, it’s still relatively easy to use—this one requires no preheat—and the results are worth the payoff. A cookbook is included to give you lots of recipe ideas. If your family really likes fried food but not the fat, the Philips is definitely worth the investment.
Some air fryers claim to be oil-free, meaning you don’t need to use any oil while cooking as opposed to the commonly suggested 1 tablespoon. While you don’t technically have to use oil in these products for functionality purposes, we recommend using some oil if you’re going for the traditional fried food texture. Some sources we read suggested using a spray-on oil instead of just drizzling it directly on the food. This can help spread the oil over a larger area more evenly, crisping up the food more effectively.
I followed the Leah Chase's Oven-Fried Chicken recipe to test the second batch of chicken. After dredging, I brushed each piece of chicken with a light coat of olive oil in order to soak up the flour and prevent it from caking up and not “frying” correctly. I set the airfryer to 410°F for 30 minutes and preheat the oven at 425°F. However, 10 minutes into baking, the oven started to smoke really bad, so I turned the temperature down to 400°F. (I suspect the excess flour on the pan was burning.) Halfway through cooking, I flipped the chicken in both the oven and air fryer and noticed the bottom breading stuck to the basket in the air fryer, so I would definitely recommend spraying the basket with cooking spray. Naturally, the oven batch took 15 minutes longer (45 minutes total) to cook since I turned the temperature down. The air fryer chicken again cooked quicker, was crisper, and did not smoke up the kitchen. In fact, the air fryer batch was delightfully crispy and the breading was fully cooked through—no soggy bits to be seen. The drawback, again, was that it could only hold a few pieces of chicken. That said, though the oven batch may not have been quite a crisp in the breading, I will say, the flesh was much juicer. 

The T-fal came out on top for having some of the best and most consistent cooking across all of our tests, at half the price of its closest competition. Instead of the usual rapid air-circulation tech that keeps hot air constantly moving around the food, the T-fal uses pulsating heat technology to pump hot air periodically throughout the food, maintaining the temperature without drying things out. We initially thought the pulsating-heat tech was marketing nonsense, but we couldn’t argue with the results.
Deep fryers require diligent maintenance. A deep fryer remains too hot to handle for several hours after use. As such, it’s a challenge to perform important tasks like oil filtering. Working with large amounts of animal-based fat is also a messy and thankless job for many cooks. There is also the problem of having a large container of scalding hot oil within reach of small children.

I received my Air Fryer Oven Elite and found I was missing the basket handle and the air fryer diffuser. I called customer service. The guy said I would have to return it at my expense. I called again. The guy said they would ship the handle but the air diffuser was optional, and I would have to purchase it separately. I asked how much it cost. He told me it was out of stock and had no idea when it would be available, no price quoted. All I want is what was promised me when I ordered. For $199.00 it should have everything. I hate companies that show one thing and then they don’t deliver the goods. Shame on you Tristar Products. How about sending me all the missing parts?
