Oh, friends! It was so sad! I could only cook four thighs at a time, despite the recipe's idea that you could fit six. (Where do they find these miniature chickens? Why not call for a broiler or a squab?) Two people would need to wait an hour of "fry" time to get more than two pieces each—often a necessity with good fried chicken. When done, the exterior was blotchy and scaly, and vaguely, but not really, fried-looking. Taking a bite, the meat was surprisingly juicy, but the crust was horrible, with a peculiar texture that, while sloughing around between my teeth, reminded me of shale.

There is also present an exhaust fan just above the cooking chamber that provides that much needed flow of air from the lower portions of the oven underneath the food. This ensures that the heated air flows through your food and keeps your entire food at the right temperature. Thus, your food is cooked at a much faster rate than otherwise, due to the hot blast given out by the fan.
I ordered the Power Air Fryer Oven March 11th. The thing has never worked, it never would heat up. Wish i would have read these reviews before i got suckered into buying this. The only positive is that i purchased from Kohls and they have a hassle free return so I don't have to deal with the Power Air Fryer customer service or pay to have it shipped back to them.

This unit comes with a mesh basket and divider so you can cook two portions of food at once.  We also liked that the timer can be set up to 60 minutes which is double that of other models such as the GoWise or Avalon Bay Air Fryer.  On the top of the model, you’ll find two indicator lights, one for when the air fryer is turned on and the other for when the preheat temperature is reached.  This is a cool feature as it means you’re only cooking at the temperature that you set rather than wasting time as it heats up.

Okay, I need to do a product enforcement. My husband & I love fried foods but sadly our arteries don't lol. I have been researching online for a week Hot Air Cookers & today i brought this one at Walmart for $79.00. I have to say i love this as much as my Crockpot. I made Chicken bites, Fries & omg Onion Rings. Everything came out so Crispy and tasted delicious. You have to play with the time & make sure you shake the basket half way through. I cannot wait to try making other things in here.

"Enjoy great tasting fried food"[sic] reads the cover recipe booklet for Philip's new Airfryer XXL, a lovely sounding idea. With their focus on faux fried flavor, an aversion to fat, and an emphasis on convenience in the marketing from almost every manufacturer, the rise of air fryers felt like the second coming of the George Foreman Grill.
Fresh Chicken wings - this is what sold me on this machine. Just take fresh wings from the grocery store and brush with some olive oil, cook for 18 minutes on 350-390 with a shake half way, plate and pour on your favorite warmed wing sauce. Definitely as good as doing it in the deep fryer in terms of crisp on on the outside and tender inside, superior to baking as well (conventional baking). However, this does create some smoke but if you pour out the oil (the extra oil just from the chicken itself that comes from cooking) at the time you shake you will avoid the smoke. This makes 8 wings easily, could probably make 12 easily as well without stacking. and I am also thinking of getting the layering rack when the price goes down.

I bought this in September and finally used it last week. First off, it is very big so you will need ample storage space to hide it away when you are not using it. My first use of this product was to “Fry“ french fries. The fries came out crisp and delicious with no greasy feel. Sure, you can bake fries in the oven but I’ve never had them come out so crisp from an oven.
Before buying an air fryer, you first need to understand what are you looking at in a fryer. If your focus is on food, taste, texture, and getting your recipes right, then skip the air fryer and buy a deep fryer. It uses a lot of oil and is unhealthy, but you won't get the exact taste and texture from an air fryer, and you risk drying out some foods.
This Air Fryer is one of the best! I read some reviews of others before buying and I have had no trouble with it at all. I have used it numerous times since getting it for Christmas. Most things you have to shake halfway through as stated in the instructions. Frozen or precooked anything comes out great, except precooked greasy hamburgers. I like it because it removes some of the grease from the frozen items that you cook in it. I am extremely happy with it.!

First off Eric is being paid to lie to people. He says in the commercial that you don't have to rotate the racks and you don't have to turn the chicken. Yes you do. When I got my Power Air Fryer Oven it was all scratched up. So I Email customer service they send me another one and it's all scratched inside to. So sent that one back. Asked for compensation for the scratches and they gave me 45.00 that's the max amount they will take off any purchase. Once they take that off it's a finale sale. Tried to get compensation for the false advertising and was told no due to the 45.00 they already took off. WHAT A JOKE. I don't like being lied too. I could have kept my first air fryer worked just as good and was cheaper. Bought this thinking it was better and it's not.
From there, I tried another recipe in the Philips recipe booklet: shrimp on lemongrass skewers with sweet potato fries. The idea is that you're supposed to cook it all in batches, a detail that subtly pops up on the very last line of the recipe. My estimate is that you'd have to do the fries in (at least) two batches, followed by the shrimp in two, turning it into 60 minutes of cooking time. Compare that to cooking the fries in the oven (there wasn't much difference in taste in the fries between the three methods), then blasting the shrimp under the broiler. Don't get me wrong, the results of all three methods for the shrimp were excellent, but the oven and broiler gave me more options and slightly superior results, and, thanks to the relatively luxurious amount of space in my oven, I could cook much more food in about half the time.

Me too! The rotisserie cannot handle a 4 pound chicken or anything close. Even tied to the nines, there is virtually no clearance between the meat on the rotisserie and the drip pan. Same goes for the skewers. There is less than 1/2 inch clearance between the ingredients on the rotating skewers, and the drip pan, and so they rub against the bottom and cause things to slow down. It is a very bad design, although the concept is great. The interior (black) is nearly impossible to see into to place racks, rotisserie baskets, etc. and at counter level, you need a flashlight to see what you are doing and use your free hand to try to manipulate the food! Also, the door is just a removable hinged affair, very easy to fall off, while removing for cleaning. Like I said, great idea, but very poorly executed. Don't fall for all of those late night infomercials! Despite what the food looks like in their commercials, it just doesn't live up to them!
If you don’t have experience with an air fryer but are willing to give it a try, the GoWISE USA 3.7 could be the best one, to begin with. The marketing materials for the scores of companies that make these hot-air blowers will tell you that they are a great way to cook that cuts down on fat. But good lord, fried is fried, and "air fried" is not that. Better to eat well most of the time then go to your favorite fried chicken place on your birthday, or do it up at home with a couple of liters of canola oil and a Dutch oven. The rare dose of perfection is far better than the consistent drip of mediocrity.

Have only used a few times since the air fryer arrived last week, but super impressed with the result of making fries and wings, especially the wings!!!! Tried the "fried chicken' recipe using chicken thighs. Based on the recipe it was extremely salty (will modify next time!) but the result was good. The wings were a WOW! Only negative so far is a strong chemical smell once in full gear of air frying, I have to assume this will disappear after a few more uses, the heating element is an electric coil therefore I assume this is the reason. Any comments or feedback welcome on this strong chemical smell coming from the back vent (I keep checking to see if somehow we missed the removal of some packing material that could cause this, but not finding anything)

If you’re into meal prepping or are vegan, you know the beauty of the sweet potato, that versatile spud that’s good for you and takes well to any flavor you can imagine. You also know how long they take to cook, and that, as fries, they never really get that crispy. This is not the case in an air fryer, where the circulated high heat partially dehydrates the outside to a crisp, similar to eggplant, while cooking the insides until soft. Whether cut into fries, cubes, or spears, sweet potatoes cook up much faster than in the oven.
This is so handy! Easy way to eat healthy without heating up a giant oven. I cut up a head of cauliflower and used a T of butter/or margarine with garlic powder/ onion powder and smoked paprika stir caul around in that, then sprinkle with italian bread crumbs and air fry. Put it in the preheated air fryer for 10-12 minutes, at 350, it was excellent. I cooked some saucy things in there, and the sauce drips to the bottom, but does not smoke and burn. VERY easy clean up. Made some homemade bean burgers, came out great in there. Also done a tone of fries, they come out great and I piled it full. Not heating up the whole oven for these items will be great in the summer when the air conditioning is on.
If money is no object AND you are sure you will use it enough, then buy the Phillips. It’s sturdy, it’s got a few bells and whistles, such as a sliding rack to hold the basket, a preheat feature etc. even though, oddly, it only goes up in 30-degree increments. The bottom basket cleans easily, and the larger grid and higher wattage means even cooking and less need to flip. The larger grid does mean small things fall down. Get it HERE.

The booklet sneakily recommended cooking a three-pounder, but I sensed trouble. Birds that small aren't easy to find at Safeway. Elisabeth checked at the grocery store near my house and after flipping through a bin of chickens, she couldn't find one smaller than 3.5 pounds. Considering it's an organic market and those birds tend to be smaller than the typical Oven Stuffer Roaster, this was disconcerting.
