The chicken was not only crunchy on the outside, it was also tender and juicy on the inside. The subtle flavors of the wet dredge can be tasted in the crunchy crumb topping. I served these with a side of Ranch Dressing, but you could also serve these with honey mustard, barbecue sauce, or Polynesian Sauce. The timer is a sore point as it only goes up to 30 minutes and it must be noted that if you pull your food out during cooking, it will continue ticking on.  It’s a bit annoying at first but easily fixed if you pre-emptively set the time with this action already planned for.  This is another common issue prevalent in all analog air fryers and is resolved if you opt for the digital model.

I purchased Power Air Fryer Elite from the TV commercial. I thought you could cook foods by the selection, I was wrong. You have to set the machine up for every item, and it did not cook any faster than my built-in oven. Also, the meats that I cooked in it came out a little dry. I decided to dehydrate some fruit, and it took all day. I own a dehydrator, so I was not impressed.
Of course you can cook this oil free, but you’ll get a much better result if you lightly spray with a bit of oil. This is the oil sprayer I use. Basically it’s easy to clean and it was highly rated. I have Mistos but I really don’t like them since they are hard to clean and remember any oil residue will get rancid…YUK. One or two quick sprays on both sides is all you’ll need.

We purchased our air fryer oven from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, utilizing the 20% odd coupon. The first recipe called for chicken pieces, to be coated with herbs and corn starch. There was corn starch everywhere. What a mess. The second attempt was cooking a 2 1 / 2 lb. Pork loin on the rotisserie. The book said it would handle up to 3 lbs. I ended up cutting the loin in half. My main problem is that after I shut it off, the was a loud bang. Our corian counter top split. There is so much heat generated they need to issue a warning. We'll be calling the company in the morning and returning the unit.

Turned out flaky, juicy, and nicely browned. I like to re-heat pizza in it, as it doesn't turn out soggy like in the microwave. Quick for heating up fully cooked sausages, as the grease all drips into the bottom pan.

We re still overwhelmed at how quickly and perfect salmon can cook in the air fryer. In fact, almost anything cooked in the air fryer always has come out wonderful. After our air fryer brussels sprouts recipe tests, we started experimenting more with this fantastic way to cook. It s a great way to get dinner on the table, especially for two after a long days work.
Hi Helen–I would try oiling the basket of the fryer but brush it with regular oil and don’t use Pam. I didn’t have to do this with this chicken, but a good method for getting breading to stick to whatever you’re cooking is to make sure that the flour is almost like paste–which should happen here because of the buttermilk soak, but if you refrigerate the breaded pieces for about an hour, the breading will adhere. This is messy, I won’t lie, but it does work. Only other thing I can think of is you may have crowded the basket. Many people swear by the parchment rounds they sell to line the fryer basket. I bought them off Amazon but to be honest, I find them more trouble than they’re worth, but your mileage may vary.
I preheated the air fryer and my oven, prepped the birds and immediately ran into trouble. I had to cram the tiny chicken into the air fryer basket, and as soon as I closed the door, I could smell something burning. I'd clearly exceeded the height limit for this ride, and now dinner was running late. I fished the slightly singed chicken out, set it on a cutting board and—getting a little desperate since people were on the way over—did what must have looked like man-on-chicken chest compressions in an attempt to break the backbone, or at least flatten the thing out a bit before performing some innovative re-trussing. Surprisingly, it worked.
