Only worked less then 5 months. The oven will not shut off even with the door open. The only way to stop it is by pulling the plug. You don't even have to have the door on it and it will run. There is strong burning smell coming form it. And when I called about it, they said that my 60 days to return it was over. I ask if there was any kind of recall because of this safety issue and I was told no.

I got the Culinary’s Edge Air Fryer as a Christmas gift. I believe that it is good and sounds and looks eerily similar to the GoWise fryer with the warping drawer of the Power Fryer XL, that gets hot and won’t go back in until it cools. It has no accessories and you need to stop it and flip over the food for even browning, but there is where the problem comes in, because the drawer won’t go back in or even register right away. It should beep or turn on when the drawer is placed back in. Unfortunately it becomes a tug of war during that time. It’s really annoying and adds more cooking time, because you have to wait for it to behave.
Some drawbacks to this machine are that it is loud and very smoky. All of the fryers produced more smoke than we expected, but this one was the worst for that. It was also tough to clean. This was one of few that had a cooking basket made of wire, like hot-oil fryers. That means there are lots of tiny grooves to get clean. The denser metal baskets on competing air fryers had larger openings that didn’t trap food as much. We pre-soaked the Philips basket, but it still took some effort to get it totally clean. Despite the Philips claim that the "starfish" at the bottom of the pan on this fryer makes a difference - I have found it absolutely does not. Not only that, but the other airfryer makes much less noise and has a digital display.
