Okay, I need to do a product enforcement. My husband & I love fried foods but sadly our arteries don't lol. I have been researching online for a week Hot Air Cookers & today i brought this one at Walmart for $79.00. I have to say i love this as much as my Crockpot. I made Chicken bites, Fries & omg Onion Rings. Everything came out so Crispy and tasted delicious. You have to play with the time & make sure you shake the basket half way through. I cannot wait to try making other things in here.

I went to the store and there they were, same brand and everything. I split up the bag, and started one batch in the air fryer, and another in my oven with the convection off, then made a follow-up batch using the convection setting. The air fryer fries were nicely browned and crisp, but a bit hollowed out, seemingly at the expense of some pleasant creaminess inside. The no-convection oven batch was more leathery on the outside, creamy within, and noticeably less browned. The convection oven version landed squarely between the two.
This unit comes with a mesh basket and divider so you can cook two portions of food at once. We also liked that the timer can be set up to 60 minutes which is double that of other models such as the GoWise or Avalon Bay Air Fryer. On the top of the model, you’ll find two indicator lights, one for when the air fryer is turned on and the other for when the preheat temperature is reached. This is a cool feature as it means you’re only cooking at the temperature that you set rather than wasting time as it heats up.
On top of the flipping features, the T-fal ActiFry is also relatively easy to use and well-designed. It offers an on/off button, and a timer, which maxes out at 99 minutes. The simplicity is a double-edged sword for some -- there’s no temperature dial here. Instead the fryer heats to 338 degrees, so you’ll modify how your food is cooked more based on how long you cook it rather than the temperature you cook it at.
Finally, with a meaningfully larger size than the previous XL model, Power Oven isn’t exactly a small appliance, so make sure you have enough cabinet or drawer space in your kitchen. The user manual also emphasizes that you’ll need at least five inches of free space at the back, sides, and above the appliance, so you’ll need a fair amount of counter room while it’s in use.
We bought the Power Air Fryer oven which is not in the reviews. It came with a rotisserie, basket, 3 racks, drip tray & recipe books. It was not only to fry, but bake & serve as a dehydrater. It was digital, easy to program & had preset controls for certain foods. You could also adjust the the and temp manually. The timer also could be set for many hours not just 30 minutes. The chicken wings, tenders and French fries came out great although the cook time was longer than the preset times. I tried a steak, would not recommend as it was just warmed. Also tried drying fruit, set on the preset (10 hours) and it still was not done after adding 2 more hours. I was so excited to use this oven even though it was very pricey. However, it just didn’t perform for the price which was $160. I an pay a lot less to do wings & fries! Sent it back.
Even though our wings came from The Cherry Lounge in Jamestown, New York, the best wings, in my opinion are from Guppy’s in Bemus Point, NY. Guppy’s was owned by my Aunt Sally and Uncle Mike and their were always the best. Crispy and spicy, with just the perfect kiss of butter. They’ve since sold the restaurant, but I was back a few summers ago and I have to say that the wings are still amazing.
From the reviews, we noticed many consumers were not using their air fryers on a regular basis. Even though it's an air fryer, it creates grease during the cooking process. “This worked very well, and I would recommend it to anyone who cooks in small amounts and doesn’t want to heat up the big oven or use an oil fryer. It’s big enough to hold dinner for two: eight to ten wings, or a couple of small salmon fillets on one side and a handful of frozen fries on the other, using the divider included with the product … I would not call the foods ‘fried’ per se, rather they are very nicely roasted. I will still use my oil fryer to make real fried foods (battered), but this air fryer will see a lot more use for roasted vegetables, fish, chicken, etc. I like it very much.”
“My new Della 5.8-Quart Air Fryer is my new go-to for a healthier alternative method of getting the crisp from the food I crave without the guilt. Chicken came out crispy and crunchy, with no oil! I did spray down the basket with olive-oil cooking spray and parboiled nine chicken legs in four cups of seasoned chicken stock for about ten minutes before cooking in my Della. The large size is perfect for my family of four … I’m honestly considering purchasing a second unit to roast veggies. It would be AWESOME to be able to have a complete meal prepared together, all made in the Della. Must-have! You won’t regret it. I’ve already recommended it to several people.”
This fryer performed very well while it was working. I received it as a Christmas gift and used it up until Monday of this week, when it suddenly shut off. The warranty is only good for 60 days, so knowing I would probably not get any help from their customer service, which I sadly found to be true, I looked up the problem in the manual. Under "Troubleshooting" in the manual it said the fryer probably overheated, to unplug it and let it cool off a while. I did exactly as it said and left it unplugged overnight. The next morning I plugged it back into the outlet and turned it on. It blinked like it was going to work, then it shut off and never started again. It seems that the whole idea of this oven is a great idea, but the company does a very poor job of making it. I think anyone that buys it should be aware of the 60 day warranty, and understand if anything happens after that time,the company will not stand by its product!
